ASTROLOGICALLY
SPEAKING,
NOVEMBER 2004 is a
dynamic month with Election day occurring on Nov. 2, transiting Saturn
stationing retrograde on Nov. 8, transiting Uranus stationing direct
motion on Nov. 11 and MERCURY STATIONING
RETROGRADE ON NOV. 30, all suggesting a
major shift of direction and priorities. On
ELECTION DAY,
NOV. 2, the
transiting Moon will be in the domestic sign of Cancer, emphasizing
home, homeland security, emotional security and patriotism. In
addition, the Moon in Cancer will conjoin both President Bush's Sun
and the United States Sun in Cancer today! Mercury will
trine Saturn in water signs today, suggesting organized thinking is
motivated by gut instincts and emotions. Emotional reactions
supersede realism.
WHO WILL WIN THE ELECTION? Astrologically, this is an extremely close election! Both candidates are experiencing astrological transits and progressions indicating major adjustment and change. Briefly, JOHN KERRY is currently experiencing his secondary progressed Full Moon phase, an important time of fulfillment and actualization of ideals. His progressed Sun will soon oppose his progressed Jupiter (lasting 3 years), emphasizing leadership and expansion with an international focus. With transiting Pluto opposing his natal Saturn, there will be heavy burdens of responsibility and tests of endurance coming up for John Kerry in all areas of partnerships (both business and personal). He will called upon to work very hard to forge durable bonds for the next few years. The recent October eclipse aspected Kerry's Venus and John Edward's natal Venus! Venus is a favorable influence... symbolic of beauty, partnerships, peace and popularity. The advantageous Venus-Jupiter aspect on Nov. 4 falls precisely on Kerry's midheaven (career status). Though this aspect is short lived, it indicates increased popularity and a celebratory energy that will last for a few days. What about PRESIDENT BUSH? On election day, President George Bush will experience his Saturn return (transiting Saturn conjoining his natal Saturn in Cancer), which only occurs every 29 years! Bush's return occurs in the 12th house of his natal birthchart (karma, hidden strengths and sorrows, the unconscious and hidden matters), suggesting a major time of karmic integration and winding down. In addition, transiting Pluto which takes 248 years to travel a birthchart is precisely on his South Node...a karmic point symbolizing release and a powerful link to our collective destiny! This aspect links ego death and rebirth issues with past karma and future destiny. The October eclipse squared his natal Mercury and Ascendant, suggesting emotional frustrations and blocked actions. Transiting Mars will conjoin his IC and square his Saturn return on election day. Another aspect suggesting anger, frustration or blocked actions. A look at Dick Cheney's chart reveals transiting Pluto applying to square his natal Moon over the next year, indicating emotional brooding or emotional upheavals requiring him to move out of his comfort zone. This election is karmically linked to our fast approaching shift from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius (December 2012). Every great age change elicits major growing pains for humanity. The Aquarian Age will accept nothing less than universal brotherhood and altruistic actions. Our leaders at this time will be called upon to embrace Aquarian ideologies. The Piscean age, which coincided with the birth of Jesus Christ, is now winding down as it is currently experiencing it's own Balsamic Moon phase, suggesting loss, ego death and rebirth and a final letting go. On a personal level, we experience our our own progressed Balsamic Moon phase every 29 years. Several astrologers have expressed the opinion that Bush will win the election because the transiting Moon, which represents the collective pulse of the people, will not only conjoin the US Sun, it will also conjoin Bush's Sun as well...linking him with our collective destiny. THE BOTTOM LINE...Kerry has more favorable transits. However, would it be in his best interest and lucky for him to NOT be elected? Or, will we usher in a new President who will be greatly tested in his first term? I anticipate some surprising twists or turns before inauguration day. NOV. 1-3 (READ ABOVE) NOV. 4-5 MERCURY ENTERS SAGITTARIUS, SUN SQUARE NEPTUNE AND VENUS CONJOIN JUPITER IN LIBRA The focus is on celebration with peace loving Libra teaming up with benefic Jupiter. With a Leo Moon and Mercury in Sagittarius, a celebration is in the air. The Sun-Neptune aspect adds an energy of vulnerability or heightened sensitivity to the party atmosphere. There is no doubt that some individuals will succumb to doubt, poor judgment or disillusionment at this time. However, many of us are feeling inspired! NOV. 6-7 MERCURY SQUARE URANUS, MARS SQUARE SATURN AND SATURN STATION RETROGRADE IN CANCER Expect some tension as here we have restless, rebellious and unconventional thinking in sharp contrast with poor timing, frustration or anger issues. Emotional frustrations may peak, however, a Virgo Moon lends a discriminating, exacting and precision like focus to our tasks at hand. With Saturn shifting direction at 27 degrees of Cancer and back tracking until late March 2005, we are collectively and personally becoming internally aware of the consequences of our actions. All those with planets in late degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) will feel this structural shift now and again in late March when new responsibilities become externalized. NOV. 8 VENUS TRINE NEPTUNE Creativity and compassion are intensified. NOV. 11 URANUS SHIFTS DIRECTION AT 2 PISCES facilitating more rebellion, sudden changes, new developments, forward momentum and intensified independence. NOV. 12 NEW MOON AT 20 DEGREES OF SCORPIO AT 9:28 AM (EST) New Moons are symbolic of new beginnings. In Scorpio, these new ventures or intentions are linked to a powerful vibration of truth versus fallacy, personally and collectively. This New Moon is strongly influenced by two outer planets changing direction, suggesting sudden new developments and/or volatility. With Saturn shifting direction oppose the United States Pluto, our nation faces much hard work and global restructuring which is based on an irresponsible use of money and resources. On a personal note, this is a wonderful New Moon to delve into matters of the unconscious for penetrating truths and healing insights. A great day to access hidden matters through the metaphysical arts such as tarot or astrology. NOV. 13 VENUS SEXTILE PLUTO AND SQUARE CHIRON A great day to build bridges in wounded relationships. Speak the truth and let the chips fall where they may. It will only make things better. NOV. 15 MARS TRINE URANUS Actions are original and inspired. A great day to delve into technology or advance a cause. NOV. 18 SUN TRINE SATURN A great day for purposeful and steady work which brings the reward of a job well done. NOV. 19-21 VENUS SQUARE SATURN, MERCURY CONJOIN PLUTO AND SUN ENTERS SAGITTARIUS Here we have the suggestion of oppression, control or contraction of relationship or financial matters. Saturn symbolizes definition and commitment. Mercury-Pluto links the rational mind with penetrating and shrewd instincts. Beware of intense power struggles which can become obsessive. Deep thoughts pierce through unyielding obstacles. Be ready for an intense discussion! NOV. 23-34 VENUS TRINE URANUS AND SUN SQUARE URANUS Surprising and unexpected twists and turns or unexpected events are possible. This is a great time to try something new, experiment or innovate. Artists of all kinds or eccentric minded souls thrive on Uranian ingenuity. NOV. 26 FULL MOON AT 4 DEGREES OF GEMINI AT 3:08 PM (EST) This Full Moon forms a dynamic configuration with rebellious and innovative Uranus, urging us to communicate and network, diversify or change our minds with a mutable focus on dualistic Gemini in polarity to a Sagittarius focus on higher truths, education, religion, travel and internationalism. Full Moons symbolize full awareness and the flowering of the seed which originated in the dark phase of the New Moon. Something will be revealed. NOV. 29 JUPITER TRINE NEPTUNE Religious or divine inspiration, compassion and selfless actions are the potential today. NOV. 30 MERCURY STATIONS RETROGRADE AT 26 DEGREES OF SAGITTARIUS UNTIL DEC. 21 AND MARS SQUARE NEPTUNE For the next three weeks, we are once again called upon to incorporate a reflective mindset which embraces a right brain approach to reviewing and reconsidering a myriad of details in our lives. Type A personalities have the most trouble with this shift, as they often allow no room for creative mistakes. We now have "celestial permission" to step back, dream and regroup our lives, our goals and our projects. Christmas lists will have to be checked more than twice! Travel plans may go awry with Mars in aspect to Neptune late Nov and early Dec. Mars-Neptune is suggestive of misguided actions without clear direction. Be cognizant of the energies around us and you will thrive, for knowledge is empowering. Namaste, Carol A.
