June Forecast   

ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING. June 1 begins with another Jupiter-Neptune opposition calling for creativity, inspiration and idealism.  This aspect has been in effect since September 2002 (occurs every 12-13 years),  where arrogant and self serving behaviors are undermined, and a broader, humanitarian reality is rewarded.  This is followed by our karmic planet SATURN ENTERING CANCER on JUNE 5 where it will remain for approximately two and a half years.  Collectively, real estate, financial security, family security and of course, homeland security will be impacted with karmic responsibilities to restructure and return to safe and sound priorities. The last time Saturn was in Cancer was 1974 - 1976, which was a wake up call addressing the real estate market and corporate sector.  Two examples of previous events related to Saturn in Cancer are in the years 1944 and 1974.  In September 1944, we were involved in World War II and within 8 months, President Roosevelt had died.  In June 1974, we experienced the Watergate scandal, and within eight months, President Nixon fell from power.  According to professional Astrologer, Tem Tamiktar, we should see a global housecleaning on many levels..."The United States and U.S. Presidents have faced major crises the last two times that Saturn entered Cancer and reached perihelion."

  Cancer is an intuitive, water sign whose primary essence is emotional security.  Because the Moon is the planet which rules Cancer, those individuals with this sign prominent in their horoscope are often called moody and changeable.  This is because the Moon changes signs every two and a half days!  Cancer individuals are also extremely nurturing, home loving and sensitive when they feel safe and secure.  If they are put in a vulnerable position, they may withdraw into their shell for a bit, emerging back into the bustle of life, such as the dark of the Moon emerging  into a crescent...ready to reveal itself once again.  So allow your Cancer loved ones their time to retreat...they always come back out...  just like the tide!  To all those individuals with planets in Cancer, Aries, Libra and Capricorn...get ready to further define your reality of discipline, order and commitment.  When you start to feel the added weight of additional responsibilities, remember that Saturn is our karmic teacher and mentor, ultimately providing lessons about patience, maturity and duty. To those individuals with planets in Scorpio and Pisces (Saturn will be trining your planets), you can expect rewards if you are willing to put forth the extra effort.

In addition to Saturns entry into Cancer on June 5, transiting Mars will be in challenge aspect to relational Venus.  Add a drama queen Leo Moon to the mix and we can expect an emotionally charged day where a give and take between peace and war in relationships is called for.  Continuing this theme of strong emotions is the Sun in challenging aspect to shamanic Pluto on June 9, either enhancing our psychological perceptiveness and right use of will or alternatively, precipitating temptations to control and exploit with an all or nothing attitude. 

Transiting URANUS STATIONS RETROGRADE on JUNE 7 at 2 degrees of PISCES.  Those of us who have planets in early mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius are really going to feel this rebellious energy of independence, freedom and individuality.  Next on June 10-11, take note of Mercury square Mars linking aggression with discussion...in other words...watch out for verbal confrontations and mean criticism!  Instead, let us strive for crystal clear thinking asserted in an articulate manner.  This aspect is followed by communicative Mercury entering versatile Gemini on June 12 facilitating multifaceted and discriminating deliberations. 

June 12 - 14 looks noteworthy with transiting Venus and Mercury square Uranus, along with a Sagittarian full Moon.  Uranus will certainly add a dose of unexpected eccentricity to our collective mindset and relationships.  THE FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS on JUNE 14 at 7:17AM occurs at 23 degrees of the archer's sign, when our inner convictions and far reaching goals become illuminated.  Sometimes, what becomes fully conscious is our collective hypocrisy or insincerity.  Positively, Sagittarian energy has a well developed sense of justice and higher purpose.  This lunation is a wonderful time to study, teach,  publish, make travel plans and exchange meaningful philosophies with others. 

Action oriented Mars enters sensitive and intuitive Pisces on June 16 where it will remain until mid December 2003 due to its retrogradation phase beginning in July.  Mars in Pisces encourages us to act (Mars) with higher, more refined motivations.  An appropriate archetype could be the Samurai....Spiritual Warrior.  The harmonious trine between Saturn and Uranus on June 18 further supports our Martian driven actions with a nice balance between freedom and traditional values.  We are positively bridging the old and new, allowing us to consciously break through old, useless limitations.

The Mercury and Venus conjunction on June 20-21 will inspire beautiful thoughts and cerebral idealism, so use these days to get your point across, mend any broken fences or create your art...aesthetic appeal is in the air!   Transiting Mars will next conjoin wildcard Uranus on June 23 linking the rebel and the revolutionary!  Mars linked to Uranus can be volatile because the planet of anger, action and aggression is powerfully configured with the planet of excitement, the unexpected and sudden events.   It you tend to drive too fast or take excessive risks....take a few deep breaths and slow down.  Our reaction speed is in high gear!   Positively, this day calls for pioneering new paths in unknown regions.  Also at this time,  Mercury and Venus are in challenging to aspect to powerful Pluto suggesting powerful persuasion or intolerance.  The Venus sextile to expansive Jupiter today adds a pleasant aura of charm and optimism.

June ends with transiting Sun conjoining Saturn and trining Uranus, which bodes well for reliability, maturity and responsibility expressed through the lens of Uranus...incorporating progressive and utopian vision.  Our Saturnian tasks challenge us to bring innovation into the world.
