MERCURY,
astrologically speaking, presides over our consumer driven, communications
society. IT RULES COMMUNICATION,
TRANSPORTATION AND ALL THE “STUFF” OF TECHNOLOGY. It is associated with mental and linguistic
activities of learning, thinking, writing, analyzing, concentrating and
communicating. Mercury rules the intellectual and discerning zodiac
signs of Gemini and Virgo. It rules over anything that links two or more
things together. It is the ruling planet of telephones, computers,
newspapers, airplanes, news broadcasts, magazines, books and fax machines and
so on. In the natural wheel of the birth chart, Mercury also symbolizes
siblings, early education and one’s neighborhood.
MERCURY STATIONS RETROGRADE 3-4 TIMES PER YEAR FOR THREE WEEKS. When Mercury
is direct, the collective communication pulse streams outward.
When it is retrograde (to go back), our usual forward momentum is interrupted
to make space for retrospection and contemplation. Take advantage of this
mental downtime!
WHILE MERCURY IS RETROGRADE: Remember all the “RE” WORDS such as Re-confirm, re-evaluate, review, restart, revise,
research, re-write and re-submit! *Forgive yourself and others for mistakes or
revised plans! *Finish old projects that have been on hold *Read fine print very carefully on
contracts. Do not sign unless you must! *Re-connect with an old friend for lunch or
take a day off to play *Re-contact customers and clients or update
client files *Use carry on luggage if possible- expect
transportation delays *Back up computers! *Restore antiques or refinish furniture *Revise marketing plans but do not launch
until Mercury Direct! *deliberate, ponder, imagine, experiment and
if possible, meditate!
